Dear Prospective Grand Cru Volunteer,
Each year, over one hundred people volunteer hundreds of hours to produce the three events that make up the Long Beach Grand Cru: The Fundraising Launch Party which launches our fundraising season, the International Wine Competition where over 1000 wines are judged and awarded medals, and the Public Tasting where the medal winning wines from the Competition are available for tasting in a celebratory atmosphere.
Funds raised benefit the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) and it’s Greater Long Beach Medical Legal Partnership with the Children’s Clinic.
Your volunteer experience will expose you to new friends and wines of the world, and will raise funds for an essential community cause. Click on any of the links below to sign up through Doodle. You’ll receive a confirmation email from firstname.lastname@example.org with location information, exact call times/end times, parking information, and attire requests.
We will be posting more requests for volunteer time as the production of the events move forward, so please keep checking back here for more volunteer opportunities. If you have any specialized skills that you believe could be utilized in the production of our events, or are available for administrative work, please let us know at email@example.com.
Thank you for your time, energy, and effort!

Indulge your love of food, shopping, and wine and benefit the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles at the same time! The Long Beach Grand Cru has an ongoing need for awesome volunteers with phone and administrative experience. We need volunteers for the Winery Phone Call Committee, the Restaurant Committee, and the Auction Committee — groups that are all critical parts of making the Grand Cru Public Tasting an excellent experience. And, we’re flexible! You can commit to just a few hours or help out on an ongoing basis.
Please see below for more detailed descriptions:
If you love wine, serve on the Winery Phone Call Committee and help encourage wineries to participate in the Grand Cru! Having more participating wineries helps elevate the level of competition and is a direct benefit to the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. To make the process easier, volunteers will be provided with talking points, a script, and a phone list. Volunteers will take any notes and feedback from wineries that are reached. Calls can be made from the Los Angeles or Long Beach office or from your personal phone. Volunteers will report to Competition Coordinator Oliver Hendelman.
If you love food, help ensure the quality and variety of food at the Grand Cru Public Tasting and serve on the Restaurant Committee. Volunteers will solicit and follow up with local restaurants to encourage them to bring their delicious spreads. Volunteers will also help remind restaurants about their participating and assist in collecting the required health department documentation. Last year, 15 restaurants participated, complementing the wine with some delectable selections.
And of course, if you love shopping, then serving on the Auction Committee is for you. Volunteers will use their tasteful eyes to find a delightful mix of beautiful items and experiences that will draw in the attendees for the Grand Cru Public Tasting. Volunteers will help stuff envelopes with solicitations, help collect and organize forms and items, perform data entry, and do any needed follow up. Once the event is over, volunteers will help notify winners of each item and mail the items.
